Dear Granville Arts Center, The Atrium and Plaza Theatre Patrons,
In order to protect our audience, staff and cast/crew from the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Granville Arts Center facilities (including The Atrium and the Plaza Theatre) have closed through May 20. All events at our facilities have been immediately canceled or postponed through May 20.
The dates of these closures are consistent with the most recent guidance from the CDC. Disease prevention guidance also calls for social-distancing of about six feet.
If you’ve purchased tickets through the Granville Arts Center Box Office for a performance during March 17-May 20, you will be contacted shortly on how to exchange tickets, receive a refund or donate tickets for a tax deduction.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please know that we’re working around the clock to ensure that performances are updated and patrons are being served in this trying time. Together, we’ll emerge and get back to enjoying amazing entertainment at the Granville Arts Center facilities. Please stay safe.
Located in Downtown Garland across from the Downtown square, the Plaza Theatre, a local landmark since 1941 on Garland’s 50th birthday, provides a classic setting for the finest in stage productions, concerts, business meetings, receptions and other special events. Now, in its finest hour, the Plaza has been completely refurbished in the art deco style to reflect the bygone era; you travel back in time when walking through its doors. From the spacious domed lobby area featuring a spectacular chandelier, guests enter the 350-seat theatre equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems.
The Plaza provides the ultimate theatre-going experience enhanced with luxurious velvet seating and a motorized waterfall curtain. The curtain opens to free movie showings throughout the year.
